I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.

A beautiful young woman named Gia Torres enjoys life. She parties, travels, and enjoys the life of the rich. Her beloved father dies suddenly and in his will he leaves Gia a home in Greece but no money. Faced with a drastic change in life, she knows changes are necessary. Selling her house will generate enough money for her to live on if she is careful. Gia agrees to make some repairs to the property and sell it to her stepmother. She also meets someone. Garrett charms her. He is attentive, considerate and loving. Gia is in love. The quick courtship leads to marriage, against the advice of Gia’s brother, Benny, and best friend, Abby. Marriage seems wonderful to Gia as she adapts to the mindset of being a wife. When she discovers her husband’s shipping company is struggling, she does as any good wife would do – she loans him money.

During a trip into town, Gia and Garrett meet a couple that are new to the island. Their yacht has engine trouble and they are waiting for it to be fixed. Gia invites the couple to stay with them, they have more than enough room. Timeo and Emelia are excellent company and Gia believes she has found a friend. She and Emelia enjoy being together. Garrett asks Gia for another loan and she realizes that she doesn’t know that much about Garrett and his company. Gia’s banker cautions her and declines to transfer the money to Garrett. He would like to speak with Garrett first. Gia is concerned that Garrett will be angry with her. Why does he keep needing money?

Gia had made plans with Benny and Abby to meet and enjoy the Northern lights, without her husband. Benny and Abby arrive and anticipate their reunion. Gia fails to arrive. Their attempts at contact do not work. Soon they decide to travel to Greece and see Gia. Something is wrong. Why didn’t Gia travel? Why won’t she answer their calls?

This psychological thriller captures your attention from the start. Gia seems to be a simple person but as the story develops, it is apparent that she is very complicated. Can the loyalty of her brother and best friend save her? Sensitive readers should be aware of sexual scenes and domestic violence. There are twists and turns in this story, many are a complete surpise. The ending is unsuspected. I felt that after all the build up to a conclusion, the actual conclusion sidestepped issues with Gia. I don’t want to spoil the story, it is worth reading. See what you think. Enjoy the trip to Greece!
