In the town of Sleepy Hollow, Marc Sanduj works for the local paper as a writer. His dream is to one day write the great American novel. He lost his mother to suicide and his father to a heart attack. He lives in a small apartment with a great view. As he exits the coffee shop one day, he bumps into the local antique store owner, Lori Francon. Lori comes from generational wealth and grew up in the family home in the Hamptons. She relocated to Sleepy Hollow to escape her overbearing and opinionated mother and to start over after a bad breakup.

Lori and Marc fall in love and have the wonderful ability to understand each other. Lori knows Marc’s laser focus when he is writing and doesn’t attempt to break his concentration. Marc knows that Lori suffers from night terrors, so he comforts her and listens as she awakens from the terrors. They are fortunate to have found a person who appreciates them for who they are. On a weekend getaway, Lori wakes one morning to find Marc deeply immersed in his writing. She notices that Marc seems more intense than usual. As Marc finishes his writing, he informs Lori that he is writing something different than his usual romance stories. Marc is working on a horror novel. What has prompted this drastic change of genre? Lori notices Marc is behaving differently and is concerned.

And so begins the spine-tingling, hair-raising Tilt-A-Whirl ride that Mr. Alleva has lured us on. Hold on tight because experience has taught me that he will only continue to increase the intensity of this story. Lori and Marc are two damaged individuals who fit together. They touchingly support each other. They are two deeply complex characters. I am curious about their future and how the hints of horror will develop over the next three books.
