As a teen, Alana watched helplessly while police tried to solve a local abduction. If only the police could have had access to the abducted girl’s phone. Alana believes she has the answer. She has created the If I Go Missing binder, which provides all the information necessary for authorities to track and locate an abducted person. The binder contains passwords to websites, accounts, phones, and a DNA sample. After years of refining her idea, Alana is interviewed on television about her project. She explains the importance of having such information on hand during emotional times.

Alana and her husband Daniel live on a quiet street with only two houses. The solitude is wonderful. A loud noise alerts them to the arrival of a moving van next door. They were unaware their elderly neighbor had placed her home on the market. Why would she vanish without any goodbye? To welcome the new neighbors, Alana bakes a pie. As she delivers the welcome gift, Alana is shocked to discover that she knows these people. The new neighbors are old friends from high school that she lost track of. Will she be glad to be reunited with her old friends?

What an interesting and mind-boggling story! The first lines of the book and the concept of the binder are captivating. I was even intrigued enough to check out the existence of such a binder on Google. They do exist! I haven’t had the pleasure of reading one of Leslie Wolfe’s books until now. Leslie Wolfe describes Alana’s feelings to the point that you feel she is a friend and not just a character. Her writing is vivid. This book pulls you into an amazing story with an unforgettable finale. I was convinced I knew how this book ended and to my surprise, I was wrong. This is the kind of thriller that I love, one that makes you think back to various parts of the book for reinterpretation. I am now a big Leslie Wolfe fan!

Any fan of thrillers or mysteries needs to grab this book! It is out now and is a tremendous find.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing, Hachette Book Group, and Leslie Wolfe for the advanced readers copy.

My Rating: 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻/5 sunflowers (Kansas girl remember?)
